BARBS ATTWOOD :: CREATIVE SUPPORT

Barbs Attwood is a photo and mixed media artist, and partner in Sound Solutions.

Independent Art Practice
A return to education at University College, Chichester provided an opportunity to explore her interest in the Human Condition. She graduated with a BA Hons in Fine Art in 2005.

Barbs recently exhibited States of Transition; three sequences of photographs forming a poetical narrative, which explores different ideas of the journey. This work was shot at Brighton Railway Station, using the rush hour as a metaphor; indicating a time of change. 'In using the railway station as a venue for my work I combine ideas of everyday journeys and special journeys.'

Current work continues her investigations into the Human Condition; considering the individuals' understanding and response to their own image; their reflected mirror image and that captured by camera.

Work with Sound Solutions
::
Commission to develop a photo series expressing sound and vibration for the Sound Solutions prospectus. These images will also be exhibited in the new offices of the consultancy.
:: Project management: Coordinating the required information and expertise for Machines for Singing.

Barbs has worked in Education and Social Services over a period of twenty-five years, enabling students and clients to develop their own sense of creativity in their lives. She has run a number of community art projects/workshops, and was highly commended for her work in developing an arts curriculum for the Preliminary Course in Social Care at Crawley College.
